AS400 FAQs - BATCH FILES

My server logs show that many people are coming to this site with general questions about AS400s, so I've added a few pages in which I discuss some of the topics people are searching for.

How do I write batch files on an AS400?

You don't. The closest thing to a batch file is a Control Language Program, or CL program, which is a list of AS400 commands compiled into an executable program. It's possivle to achieve the same thing with REXX, but much more of a pain so almost everyone uses CL programs instead.
